The Business & Enterprise Learning Zone comprises of the following Departments:

All Departments are well established and offer a variety of courses at KS3 (Art and Design & Technology), KS4 and KS5 under the leadership of Head of Department or course leader At KS5 all courses contribute to the Associated Sixth Form consisting of Greenhead School and the Holy Family Catholic School
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
- To deliver courses in each subject area in such a way that allows the student to acquire specific skills for entry into Further Education and / or employment
- To encourage and promote Enterprise activities in all areas of our curriculum
- To allow students to follow a programme which involves planning, individual negotiation and evaluation
- To encourage students to develop skills, knowledge and understanding relevant to work and adult life
- To encourage students to develop a positive approach to problem solving in creative and practical ways
- To promote independent learning
- To offer constructive career guidance and counseling
- To consistently review courses in line with internal and national developments
- To enrich and extend learning
- To provide students with opportunities to combine vocational courses and academic studies
To achieve this we will:
- Monitor student's performance and set targets for improvement
- Use information technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Support students through mentoring, additional study and independent learning
- Ensure that teaching and learning is stimulating and challenging and where appropriate, innovative in style and content
- Enhance and update vocational expertise and staff personal development through teacher placement,internal and external training and team support
- Extend learning into the world of business and the community through work placements, visiting business premises and inviting guest speakers into the classroom
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning, to identify their strengths and weaknesses and improve performance to meet individual targets
- Evaluate the teaching and learning of students, their standards and achievement and other factors influencing attainment
