Welcome to the English and Literacy Learning Zone at Greenhead High School. This page is intended as an introduction to our staff, systems, routines and policies.

Foundation (Year 7) lessons are taught at one end of the bottom E-block corridor (rooms E1 – E6) and English lessons are taught primarily at the other end of the corridor (rooms E7 – E10).

Overall responsibility for teaching and learning within English, Foundation and Literacy, including staff and pupil welfare and pupil discipline.  Specific responsibility is for Key Stage Four.

Specific responsibility for Key Stage 5 English.  Also has responsibility for Boost and Aim Higher students across the curriculum.

Our aim as an English Department is to enable every student at Greenhead to develop his or her ability to use and understand English in Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing.
