The Art and Design department is in a newly built annexe. It consists of 3 large purpose built rooms. One is primarily for 3D work and is equipped with 4 electric potter’s wheels and a kiln room.

The other two are equipped for a wide range of Art and Design activities, both have projectors linked to staff laptops. The largest Art room also has an inter-active whiteboard and a side room with a suite of Photoshop enabled PC’s.

Various after school activities take place which are funded by Work Related Learning. There is a thriving Pottery and Ceramics club, a Digital Photography club and an Independent Learning club.

Over the last year the Art department has had numerous visiting artists in to give all day workshops. These have ranged from Digital Animation, Calligraphy with a world renowned Chinese artist and a practising comic book illustrator who gave a master class on Air Brush Spraying.

This year students have successfully exhibited their work at nearby Cliffe Castle and at Bradford Education’s headquarters.
